Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree & More - NYC

~~The Gayla Pink Apple~~
More of NYC...
Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree
The famous Rockefeller Center Christmas tree.   There isn't much else that needs to be said, really.  It's huge - there are a lot of lights - there are a lot of people.  It's beautiful -  It's NYC!

Here are a few photos...
The Rockefeller Center tree before lights turned on Wednesday night! 2013
Lights!!!
It's gorgeous!  It's GIGANTIC!

Additional photos...
How about a Dragon of Diamonds?
Huge dragon on exterior of building.-NYC
This is beautiful.   They look like diamonds - not Christmas lights.  I have no idea what this dragon is made of -  whatever it is - it definitely LOOKS like diamonds.

Huge red ornaments - Pretty Cool
Look at this sleepy bear.  He is neat!
Store Window Display - NYC
This bear is made of, what appears to be, sticks!
A gift!
Exterior of building (Cartier) wrapped like a package with red ribbon and Christmas lights - NYC

The same ribbon / gift before dark.
I probably have dreamed about seeing this famous, over the top, city for too many years; therefore, my expectations could be a little too high.   It's exciting to walk the famous 5th Avenue and see the larger than life decorations.  Everyone says, "oh, you must walk down 5th Avenue." The 5th Avenue decorations are basically store window decorations.     They are pretty; but, they're window displays, etc. not LIGHTS and/or CHRISTMAS TREES with the exception of the huge tree at Rockefeller Center.

Here are a few photos of more store windows...
Lord and Taylor Store Window.
 Pretty, just not spectacular.
Macy's
I looked for Kris Kringle - I couldn't find him.  He must have been taking a break and feeding his reindeer.
Me in front of one of  Macy's window decorations.
(Not really impressed with Macy's decorations)
Another window at Macy's

Bergdorf Goodman - NYC - Window Decoration
No, the picture is not upside down.  The lady is hanging upside down.  What is the point? I don't know!  Doesn't look like Christmas to me!
Another Bergdorf window - NYC
Pretty - I like the white horse. Fourth of July??? Where's the Christmas in this?
Another Bergdorf window - NYC
Nice - big tree trunk and lady dressed up!  But, where's the Christmas in this?  Ok, enough of Bergdorf, anyway. Can you tell I don't like?

Finally...
A huge wreath with lights on the door. Is that all?
I expected much more than a wreath from this name!

In spite of a few negative comments, the decorations are spectacular, huge, and out of the box in imagination.  Without a doubt, the creativity and talent in creating and making the decorations are beyond most imaginations.  I just kept looking for the CHRISTMAS in most of them.

I'll finish with a couple more photos of decorations that I thought were very pretty in real life.  I'm not sure the photos do them justice.
Lights and a large grouping of reindeer in back.
Another beautiful Reindeer of Christmas Lights

My favorite??? ...Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree, without a doubt!  It's spectacular!

I have purposely not included a lot of NYC's tourist attractions. I've seen most of them already.  My time the past two weeks has been to be with Blair, with a few little outings thrown in to see NYC's famous Christmas tree and 5th Avenue decorations.
It's starting to SNOW, It's COLD, It's my last day in NYC
I rode the metro this afternoon with Blair on her way to work and managed to take myself for one last walk up and down 5th Avenue.  I'm going home tomorrow!
A collage of photos!
It feels like Christmas,
Gayla
